LOCAL FOOD ENTREPRENEURS SHOWCASE 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Once a month, Pensacola Cooks showcases local food entrepreneurs who utilize their commercial kitchen space, which is a USDA and Department of Agriculture certified kitchen. During each one hour showcase, the featured entrepreneur provides samples of dishes. After sampling each creation, guests provide feedback to the showcase partner on a critique form and in dialogue with the other guests. Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum offers climbing tours of the landmark 1859 lighthouse.  The Lighthouse, situated on Pensacola Bay across from the Naval Aviation Museum, offers indoor and outdoor history exhibits, gift shop, Blue Angel and  Light of the Moon Tours, ghost hunts, weddings and special events. The Richard C. Callaway Museum, in the restored 1869 keeper's quarters, offers local history exhibits including: Native American, Presidio Santa Maria de Galve, and the first Pensacola Lighthouse. Programs include a free history lecture series, sunset tours, children’s programs, weddings and special events. The Lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A book signing of his book "S-3 Viking - In Action" will follow his presentation. The Lockheed S-3 Viking was developed in the late 1960's to serve as a dedicated carrier-based anti submarine aircraft. Over the years, it evolved into an outstanding surveillance and anit-surface platform, effective not only against submarines but also large and small surface ships. Learn about the aircraft's role in Operation Desert Storm and how lessons learned impacted the Viking's mission during latter pat of 1990's and 2000's. "Discovery Saturday" is FREE and open to the public.
